The main symbol of the Aragonese Enlightenment was Francisco de Goya. Born in 1746 in Fuendetodos, a small town located 40 kilometers from Zaragoza, he died in 1828 in Bordeaux. The ISECS Congress will thus take place but one year before the commemoration of the second centenary of his death. Zaragoza affords visitors a unique opportunity to enjoy Goya’s artistic output, of great aesthetic value and strong moral sense. The culture programme organised by the Congress for the afternoons of 14, 15 and 16 July centres on this painter.
